Our Story

Placing Paws of Illinois (PPI) was established in 2008 in Lake County, Illinois, with a heartfelt mission to rescue animals from high-risk situations. The organization focuses on saving dogs and cats from rural shelters that face high euthanasia rates. These shelters are often overcrowded and underfunded, leaving many animals with little hope of finding a loving home.

Since its inception, Placing Paws has successfully adopted nearly 2000 animals, providing them with essential veterinary care and nurturing foster homes while they await their forever families.
