Our Story
In 2007, a group of compassionate women in Charlotte came together to support a friend battling breast cancer. They initiated a simple yet powerful idea: tying pink bows on mailboxes throughout October. This grassroots effort not only raised funds but also spread awareness about breast cancer. The inaugural campaign raised nearly $500, inspiring the community to rally behind the cause.
By 2008, the BCC Rally expanded its reach, raising over $5,000 for breast cancer initiatives. The momentum continued to build, and by 2010, the campaign had raised an impressive $37,000. The introduction of custom-designed pull-bows marked a significant turning point, allowing the Pink Bow Campaign to flourish, ultimately raising $90,000 in 2016.
After the dissolution of BCC Rally in 2019, the pink bows became part of Susan G. Komen Charlotte. Recognizing a greater need for local support, founder Robin Saddler established The Pink Bow Campaign, Inc. in 2021. This 501c3 nonprofit organization is dedicated to increasing awareness and supporting breast cancer detection, prevention, and treatment in local communities.
Today, these vibrant custom pull-bows are available year-round, encouraging individuals, businesses, and communities to show their support for breast cancer awareness. The Pink Bow outreach program continues to grow, reaching thousands with its message of hope and the importance of early detection.
