Bobby Schopler's lifelong fascination with wildlife led him to establish the Piedmont Wildlife Center in 2003. After pursuing wildlife medicine and recognizing a critical need for a wildlife hospital in his hometown of Chapel Hill, he dedicated his efforts to conservation and education. The center has since evolved into a vibrant community hub, fostering connections between people and nature through immersive programs and outreach.
