Our Story

Founded in 2009, Picnic Project believes in the power of sharing. What began as a simple meal-sharing initiative has transformed into a vital community resource, providing food, clothing, and a sense of belonging. During the pandemic, the organization adapted its services to ensure that vulnerable neighbors were not forgotten, distributing over half a million pounds of food and strengthening community ties.

Impact

In 2023, Picnic Project shared over 53,000 pounds of produce and served 392 new households in 2024 year-to-date. With 84% of groceries distributed being nutritious, the organization plays a crucial role in enhancing food security in Sanford, Florida.
