Established in 1972, the Pickens County Humane Society is dedicated to providing a safe haven for stray and unwanted pets. As the only NO-KILL shelter in Pickens County, PCHS houses between 700 to 1,000 pets each year, relying on the generosity of the community to sustain its operations.
For over 47 years, PCHS has significantly reduced animal suffering and overpopulation through public education and adoption services. The organization has also established a pet food bank and thrift store, enhancing its ability to serve the community.
