Founded in June 2017 by defense attorney Kerri L. Sigler, Phoenix Rising of Winston Salem is dedicated to combating the addiction epidemic. Initially focused on reviving Winston Salem's Drug Treatment Court, the organization has expanded its mission to facilitate treatment and raise awareness about addiction.
In December 2017, Phoenix Rising successfully restarted Winston Salem's Drug Treatment Court after a six-year absence. The organization also launched a Treatment Database, helping individuals find appropriate addiction treatment options. Awareness campaigns have reached tens of thousands, educating the community about the dangers of addiction.
