Our Story
Founded in 2003 by Rev. Don Skinner, StepUp Wilmington began as Phoenix Employment Ministry, creating a unique job program in Wilmington, NC. Through partnerships and collaborations, the organization has strengthened its programming and increased its capacity to serve the community.
Impact
StepUp Wilmington has transformed over 20,000 lives, successfully placing over 2,111 individuals in jobs and generating more than $17 million in earnings. With an impressive one-year job retention rate of 80%, the organization demonstrates a significant social return on investment.
