Our Story

In 2003, the Phoenix Charter Academy Network was born from a simple idea: to provide a lifeline for bright, talented young people in Chelsea whose needs were overlooked. Founded by Beth Anderson and community leaders, Phoenix was designed to offer academically rigorous opportunities for older, disconnected youth. This innovative school model embeds intensive support within a culture of high expectations, proving that all teenagers can overcome challenging circumstances and achieve academic success.

Impact

With a focus on high-risk youth, Phoenix offers a second chance at a high school diploma and pathways to college success. The perseverance of our scholars, combined with dedicated support from staff, has led to consistently improving MCAS scores. Over the past decade, Phoenix has demonstrated its ability to transform educational outcomes and replicate its successful model across struggling districts.
