Our Story
Founded in 2005 by Kelley Phillips Cox and Jerry Cox, the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center began as a humble crabbing shanty along Knapps Narrows. Over the years, it has transformed into a vibrant 5-acre waterfront campus dedicated to environmental education. Relocating to Easton, Maryland, the center continues to inspire and engage stewards of all ages through interactive experiences that highlight the Chesapeake Bay’s unique ecosystem.
Impact
The center enhances and sustains the Chesapeake Bay’s ecosystems through innovative educational programs and community engagement initiatives, including the Fishmobile and oyster restoration projects.
