Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial
EIN: 23-2911052 · Philadelphia, PA
Our Story
In the spring of 1984, a dedicated group of Vietnam veterans from Philadelphia initiated a campaign to honor the 630 young men who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. This effort led to the establishment of the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial, designed by Perry M. Morgan and dedicated in 1987. Over the years, the Memorial has expanded to include the names of additional soldiers, creating a space for learning and honoring their sacrifices.
Impact
The Memorial stands as a solemn tribute to the 648 native sons who made the ultimate sacrifice. It has also facilitated extensive educational programs for local schools, fostering community awareness and understanding of the Vietnam War.
