Our Story

The Philadelphia Ulster Scottish Pipe Band was founded in 1922 by John A. Hall, Sr. Over the decades, the band has evolved, becoming a beacon of Scottish music and culture in Philadelphia. Under the leadership of Pipe Major Thomas Hall, the band achieved remarkable success, winning numerous trophies. Following his passing in 2005, his son David Hall continued this legacy, and today, Pipe Major Eric Ouellette and Lead Drummer Derek Cooper guide the band into its 95th anniversary, celebrating a rich history and a promising future.

Impact

With a legacy of competitive success, the Ulster Scottish Pipe Band actively engages the community and participates in prestigious events like the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
