Our Story

The Philadelphia-Serengeti Alliance was founded by Margareth Awiti, a Tanzanian immigrant and nurse in Philadelphia, who envisioned a partnership to uplift the communities around Serengeti. Established in 2012, PSA has been dedicated to fostering sustainable development in Tanzania.

Impact

Through local wells managed by independent committees, women and girls now have safe access to clean water, significantly improving their quality of life. This initiative has also enhanced agriculture, healthcare, and education in partner communities.
