Our Story

The Jewish Labor Committee was established in February 1934 by Yiddish-speaking immigrant trade union leaders to rescue Jews and trade unionists from the Nazis. Over the years, the JLC has evolved to address domestic issues such as anti-discrimination, civil rights, and support for Israel, while continuing to advocate for the rights of working people.

Our Impact

Through collaboration with the American Labor Movement and grassroots organizations, the JLC champions fair wages and decent working conditions for all.
