Our Story

Founded in 1999 by Theresa Pettaway, the Pettaway Pursuit Foundation emerged from a personal journey through early labor and the challenges of having newborns in the NICU. Recognizing the struggles faced by mothers in similar situations, PPF was established to provide vital emotional and educational support to low-income families in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Over the years, PPF has expanded its services, becoming a pioneer in collaborating with insurance companies to offer doula support throughout the perinatal experience.
