Petra Community Housing

Our Story

Petra Community Housing, formerly known as Phoenixville Homes, was established in 1994 by the Phoenixville Area Council of Churches to address the pressing need for affordable housing. Initially focused on providing small grants and loans to low-income, first-time homebuyers, Petra has evolved to develop and renovate properties, creating safe and affordable living spaces for families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.

Our Impact

To date, Petra Community Housing has successfully assisted over 30 families in becoming first-time homebuyers and has developed 139 affordable rental housing units for very low-income elderly and adults with disabilities.
