Our Story
Founded in 1996 by James Lenane and a dedicated group of friends, the Peterborough Area Community Aid was established to assist underserved community members. Initially focused on emergency aid, the organization has expanded its mission to combat food insecurity, leading to the creation of the Peterborough Food Pantry. Operating entirely on community support, this all-volunteer organization serves 13 towns in the Monadnock Region.
Impact
Each month, the Pantry provides over 300 families and households with the equivalent of 3,500 meals, ensuring that those in need receive essential nourishment. Programs like the Hungry Students Program specifically target food insecurity among children in local schools.
