About Pet Community Center
Founded in 2011 by a dedicated group of animal welfare advocates, Pet Community Center (PCC) has been at the forefront of addressing the critical needs of pets in Nashville. Initially starting as a grassroots spay/neuter financial aid program, PCC quickly recognized the overwhelming demand for these services, especially in a city where the shelter euthanasia rate was alarmingly high at 80% in 2010. By studying successful models from other cities, PCC identified the lack of essential resources in Nashville and took action.
In June 2014, with the support of the Nashville community, PCC opened its first spay/neuter clinic in East Nashville. Over the years, PCC has expanded its services, reaching a significant milestone of serving over 100,000 pets by its 10th anniversary. In January 2023, PCC relocated to The Phran Galante Center for Pet Wellness in South Nashville, providing nearly three times the space to enhance its impact.
Impact of Pet Community Center
Since its inception, PCC has made a remarkable difference in the lives of thousands of animals. The shelter intake in Nashville has decreased by more than 50%, showcasing the effectiveness of its programs.
