Our Story
The Pet Animal Welfare Society of Connecticut, founded in 1962 by Betty Long, has been a beacon of hope for homeless animals in Westport, Connecticut. Initially focused on rescuing dogs, PAWS expanded its mission to include cats and established its own shelter in 2001, enhancing its ability to serve the community.
Impact
Each year, PAWS rescues and re-homes approximately 200 dogs and 500 cats, significantly increasing the number of lives saved and finding loving homes for animals in need.
