Our Story

Founded in 1971, Personal Assistance Telephone Help Inc, known as PATH, began as a volunteer-driven initiative aimed at supporting students grappling with street drug issues. Over the years, PATH has transformed into a comprehensive support system, offering crisis calls, information requests, and a safe space for individuals to connect with trained volunteers. As the first 211 call center in Illinois, PATH now serves over 50 counties, providing essential services including the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, now known as 988.
