Our Story
Permanent Planning, Inc. (PPI) was founded in 1973 to address the pressing concerns of parents with children who have intellectual disabilities. Recognizing the uncertainty surrounding the future care of their loved ones, a dedicated committee of parents, attorneys, and financial experts came together to create a sustainable solution.
Through their efforts, PPI established a corporate guardianship program that ensures seamless care for individuals with disabilities, even after their families can no longer provide support. Unlike individual guardians, corporate guardians remain stable and committed, providing peace of mind to families.
To fund this vital program, PPI was fortunate to receive a generous donation that allowed for the construction of a group home. This home was leased to a local service provider, generating income to support guardian representative staff. Over the years, PPI has expanded its impact by developing multiple group homes and acquiring additional properties, including a 12-plex apartment complex and a 5-bed waiver home.
As the needs of the community have evolved, PPI has adapted by expanding its services to include advocacy for seniors, ensuring that more individuals receive the support they need. However, the rising costs of maintaining and renovating aging properties have prompted PPI to adjust its fee structure for guardianship services. This strategic change will help sustain the organization’s mission and continue providing a lifetime of guardianship care.
