Our Story

The story of PEP Housing began in Petaluma when a group of dedicated clergy and civic leaders recognized a troubling situation: many elderly residents were living in converted garages, storage units, and tents without basic amenities. In 1978, these compassionate individuals came together as volunteers, determined to create a solution for seniors with limited income. Their vision led to the establishment of PEP Housing, which has since developed and manages 19 affordable housing properties, providing 671 apartments for over 700 seniors.

With a growing waitlist of five years for housing, the need for affordable options is evident. PEP Housing is committed to expanding its reach, constantly seeking new opportunities to develop quality housing projects across Northern California. The organization is recognized as a leader in service-enriched housing for seniors, maintaining the lowest rental rates in the North Bay.
