Our Story

Founded in 1975 by compassionate community members in DuPage County, Illinois, People's Resource Center (PRC) began as a local food pantry aimed at helping neighbors struggling with hunger. Inspired by social justice advocates, PRC has expanded its mission to address poverty and build community across socioeconomic divisions. From serving 125 families initially, PRC has grown to support nearly 26,000 residents annually.

Impact

In 2023, PRC made a significant impact by providing 39,884 grocery carts filled with nutritious food, assisting 68 families with financial aid to prevent homelessness, and enrolling 1,076 students in adult learning programs.
