Founded in 2003, Pennypack Farm & Education Center emerged from a community initiative to create a local farm dedicated to providing fresh, organic produce while preserving vital land within the watershed. Over the years, this initiative transformed a nutrient-depleted cornfield into a thriving model of sustainable agricultural practices, serving approximately 3,500 individuals annually.
Pennypack Farm donates around 25,000 pounds of fresh produce each year to local food cupboards, addressing food insecurity in the community. Additionally, the organization has successfully graduated 10 new farmers from its apprenticeship program since 2014, fostering a new generation of sustainable agriculture advocates.
