Our Story

For over 70 years, the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology has been dedicated to preparing students for rewarding careers. Founded in 1950 by Walter R. Garrison, P.I.T. began with a focus on engineering disciplines, offering classes in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. In 1982, the institute relocated to Media, Pennsylvania, to accommodate its growing programs. Today, P.I.T. offers 12 two-year associate degrees, one bachelor’s degree, and two one-year career certificate programs, all designed to equip students with the skills needed to excel in their careers.
