Our Story
Founded in February 1981, the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center emerged from the collaboration of local activist groups, inspired by the vision of Doug Mattern and supported by dedicated activists like Renee Burgard and Helen Hildreth. This grassroots organization has served as a vital hub for community activism, providing a shared meeting space and a clearinghouse for information on local initiatives.
