Empowering First-Generation College Students

The Peninsula College Fund (PCF) was founded in 2005 by an educator who recognized the alarming college drop-out rates among first-generation and low-income youth in the Mid-Peninsula and San Mateo County. What started as a grassroots initiative to support three motivated students from East Palo Alto has blossomed into a robust program that has transformed the lives of over 670 students. PCF is dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty by providing scholarships, mentoring, and career support to help these deserving young individuals not only graduate but thrive in their careers.

Making a Lasting Impact

PCF scholars are achieving remarkable success, with an impressive 88% six-year graduation rate compared to just 21% for similar demographics nationwide. This success is attributed to the comprehensive support provided, including financial aid, mentorship, and internship opportunities. By equipping students with the necessary tools and resources, PCF is paving the way for a future filled with financial security and professional fulfillment.
