Our Story

Founded in 1982 by Carol and Rich Tatum, Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy combines a love for horses with a commitment to helping the disabled community. Carol, a gifted instructor, inspired many with her dedication and warmth. Under her leadership, Pegasus expanded from serving 15 children weekly to over 100 individuals with various disabilities. Although Carol passed away in 2005, her legacy continues to thrive through the impactful work of Pegasus.

Impact

Providing over 100 lessons each week, Pegasus helps riders enhance muscle strength, flexibility, motor skills, communication, mental focus, and self-esteem.
