Our Story
The Peer Wellness Collective, formerly known as the Alameda County Network of Mental Health Clients, was founded in 1988 to provide peer-run, self-help services for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges in Alameda County, California. Emerging from the activism of the 1960s and 70s, the organization emphasizes the civil and human rights of those with mental health challenges, led by individuals with lived experience.
