Transforming Children's Dental Health

The Pediatric Dental Initiative of the North Coast, now known as PDI Surgery Center, was established in 2001 by a coalition of health providers and advocates dedicated to addressing the oral health needs of low-income children. Located in Windsor, California, PDI Surgery Center opened its doors in January 2008 after a successful $3 million capital campaign, responding to the urgent needs of over 400 children on the waiting list.

Making a Lasting Impact

PDI is the only specialized nonprofit dental facility in Northern California that treats children under anesthesia for severe decay. To date, PDI has served over 20,000 children at risk for Early Childhood Caries (ECC) and has performed necessary dental surgeries for over 1,900 children in the region.
