Our Story

In 1997, a tragic drive-by shooting claimed the lives of two students from the Harrison School District, prompting Dr. H. Dalton Conner and attorney Steven U. Mullens to take action. Together with Rick Price, principal of Carmel Middle School, they founded Peak Education to empower students in southeastern Colorado Springs. This initiative began as a scholarship program and has transformed into a comprehensive mentoring and college access organization.

Our Impact

Peak Education currently supports over 400 students, addressing the economic challenges faced by our community. The organization focuses on long-term engagement with students and families, ensuring they have the resources and mentorship needed to succeed.
