Our Story

The Peace and Education Coalition of Back of the Yards New City, founded in 1997, is dedicated to fostering leadership and community networks in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. This area has faced significant challenges, including disinvestment and violence, yet PEC remains committed to listening to community needs and supporting its legacy.

Impact

Each year, PEC allocates up to $60,000 for college scholarships and collaborates with local employers to create youth employment opportunities, driving community development and empowerment.
