About PawsWatch

PawsWatch, established in Newport in 1997, is a dedicated 501(c)(3) public charity focused on the welfare of feral, stray, and abandoned community cats across Rhode Island. With a mission to reduce the suffering of homeless animals, PawsWatch has successfully funded the spay/neuter and veterinary care of over 25,000 cats. In partnership with local animal welfare groups and municipal Animal Control Officers, PawsWatch is committed to creating a statewide network to enhance the lives of free-roaming cats.

Impact of PawsWatch

In 2021, PawsWatch provided veterinary care for over 1000 cats, achieving remarkable statistics such as 287 TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) releases and 673 adoptions. The organization operates a surgical suite and a dedicated team of veterinarians and vet techs, ensuring the health and well-being of the cats in their care.
