Founded in 2006 by Eric and Nicole Shumate, Paws and Effect brings the transformative power of animal-assisted experiences to children and veterans in Iowa and Western North Carolina. The organization began with the Pet Partner Ability Through Agility Program at ChildServe in 2007 and has since expanded to include a dedicated service dog program for veterans.
