Our Story

High Country Humane was founded in 2016 by a dedicated group of individuals committed to enhancing the lives of companion animals and their owners in Flagstaff and Coconino County. This initiative began with the Flagstaff Animal Welfare Task Force, which brought together local rescue organizations, veterinarians, and government representatives to create a unified vision for animal welfare. Officially opening its doors on January 1, 2019, High Country Humane has since established a new standard of care for animals in need.
