About the Patrick Schoonover Heart Foundation

The Patrick Schoonover Heart Foundation was established to honor the memory of Patrick Schoonover, who tragically passed away at just 14 years old due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) caused by undetected heart defects. This foundation is dedicated to raising awareness, providing education, and preventing SCA in youth, particularly student athletes.

Impact on Youth Health

Since its inception, the foundation has conducted 32 youth heart screenings, reaching 5,527 children. Through these efforts, 345 kids were identified with elevated blood pressure, and 315 were found to have abnormal heart conditions. Additionally, the foundation has trained 4,445 individuals in CPR and AED awareness, and donated 18 AEDs to local schools.
