Partnership for Strong Communities

Our Story

Since its inception in 1998, the Partnership for Strong Communities has been dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness while improving housing affordability and stability across Connecticut. Originally established by the Melville Charitable Trust, the organization became a separate 501(c)(3) in 2004 and has since evolved into a leading authority on housing issues. Under the leadership of various executive directors, including Diane Randall, Howard Rifkin, Alicia Woodsby, Kiley Gosselin, and currently Chelsea Ross, the Partnership has successfully advocated for over $2.6 billion in public funding. These funds have been instrumental in building homes and delivering essential services that enhance housing access and stability.
