Our Story

The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence (PACE) was founded in 1996 by passionate collegiate players and high school coaches who sought to improve the academic competition landscape. In 1998, they established the National Scholastic Championship (NSC), which has since become a hallmark of quality in quizbowl competitions. Over the years, PACE has expanded its initiatives, refined its question sets, and fostered a vibrant community for quizbowl enthusiasts.

Since its inception, PACE has successfully run the NSC, significantly increasing participation and enhancing the quality of academic competitions across the United States. The organization has also launched various initiatives to support the quizbowl community, including scholarships and awards for outstanding participants.
