Founded by Elizabeth McLellan, Partners for World Health began in response to the critical shortage of medical supplies witnessed in a Pakistani hospital. Since 2007, the organization has been dedicated to collecting discarded medical supplies from healthcare facilities in Maine, repackaging them, and distributing them to those in need around the world.
Since its inception, PWH has successfully collected over 5 million pounds of medical supplies, significantly reducing waste and providing essential resources to under-resourced healthcare facilities. In 2023 alone, PWH sent more than 20 containers of medical supplies valued at over $350,000 each to 15 countries.
