Our Story
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris in 1833 by Frédéric Ozanam to confront poverty. Inspired by St. Vincent de Paul, this organization focuses on helping the needy on a one-to-one basis. The Santa Cruz County Council, incorporated in California in 1969, collaborates with various agencies to serve families in need.
Impact
In 2017, nearly 100,000 trained volunteers provided 12.6 million hours of service, helping over 5.4 million people, valued at more than $3 billion.
