Parker Youth and Sports Foundation
EIN: 20-1584691 · Yakima, WA
Our Story
The Parker Youth & Sports Foundation was inspired by the vision of Shirley D. Parker, who founded Yakima's first professional baseball team in 1937. This foundation continues the legacy of Parker and his mother, Rose B. Larson, by supporting parks, sports facilities, and youth sports programs in the Yakima area. Established to address the inadequacies in public funding for recreation, the foundation aims to enhance community athletic opportunities.
Impact
Over 224 grants have been awarded in 19 years, promoting athletic opportunities and preserving community sports facilities.
