Parker Paws was founded in 2007 by Barbara Pursley as a volunteer group at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter. In 2012, it became an independent animal rescue, dedicated to saving lives across North Texas. Since its inception, Parker Paws has rescued 2,772 pets, focusing on owner surrenders to alleviate shelter overcrowding.
By providing 784 low/no-cost spay and neuter surgeries, Parker Paws has significantly contributed to preventing thousands of unwanted litters and reducing shelter overcrowding.
