Park View Community Mission

Our Story

Park View Community Mission began in the basement of a church in Lynchburg, Virginia, with a simple Wednesday night dinner in 1996. After the church disbanded in 2007, dedicated volunteers continued the food ministry, leading to the establishment of Park View Community Mission. Officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2017, the mission focuses on helping neighbors lift themselves out of poverty through various programs.

Our Impact

As Lynchburg's largest client-choice food pantry, Park View Community Mission has launched several initiatives to combat hunger and poverty, including the Food for Thought backpack program for students and the Life Skills Institute for education.
