Our Story

In 1941, the Park Theater opened its doors in Lafayette, California, designed by the esteemed architect William B. David. This beloved cinema became a community cornerstone, but after years of decline, the Park Theater Trust was established to restore and revitalize this historic landmark. With a vision to create an accessible cultural center, TPTT has successfully raised funds to purchase the theater and is now focused on raising additional funds for renovations, aiming for a grand reopening in 2025.

Our Impact

The Park Theater Trust is dedicated to transforming the Park Theater into a vibrant cultural hub that fosters community engagement through film and the arts. With $3 million already raised towards the $9 million renovation goal, the theater is set to reopen in 2025, coinciding with its 83rd birthday, and will serve as a beacon of creativity and connection for the Lafayette community.
