Our Story

Founded in 1977 by Joy Teschner, Park People of Milwaukee County Inc. was established to empower citizens in the preservation and enhancement of Milwaukee County’s unique park system. With 144 parks and 13 parkways spanning over 15,000 acres, this nonprofit organization mobilizes volunteers, businesses, and community members to revitalize and maintain these vital green spaces.
