Our Story

Parent Voices Oakland (PVO) is a parent-led grassroots organization dedicated to advocating for affordable, accessible, and quality child care. Founded in 1996, PVO empowers families, particularly Black and Brown parents, to lead effective campaigns for economic and educational justice.

Our Impact

Through successful organizing and advocacy, Parent Voices Oakland has improved child care access and quality for low-income families in Alameda County. Notable achievements include the implementation of Measure C, which generates $150 million annually for early education and child care.
