Our Story

The Panhandle Council of Car Clubs was founded in January 1981 by David Patterson in Canyon, Texas. Initially established to unite local car clubs for charity events, the Council has grown significantly over the years. The first event promoted was the Girls Town benefit in Borger, Texas. In 1986, the Council officially adopted the Make-A-Wish Foundation as its primary charity, raising over $1.2 million to date. The highlight of the year is the indoor car show held at the Amarillo Civic Center, attracting up to 300 cars and becoming the largest show in the Texas Panhandle.
