Once Upon a Time at Palm Canyon Theatre
In the heart of the Coachella Valley, a family from Kentucky transformed a historic school into a vibrant cultural hub. Dr. William “Bill” Layne, his wife Sylvia, and their family envisioned a place where the joy of live stage productions could flourish. In September 1997, Palm Canyon Theatre opened its doors with the operetta “The Desert Song,” featuring a talented cast, including Bill and Sylvia’s daughter, Se Layne. This family legacy continues as Se’s children, Wyatt and Ava, now embrace the theatre life, marking the third generation of Laynes dedicated to this artistic endeavor.
