Our Story
Founded in 1945 by six local families in Pasadena, California, Pacific Oaks College began as a progressive educational institution rooted in Quaker values of community, equality, and peace. Originally established as Pacific Oaks Children’s School, the college has evolved to train future educators and professionals across various fields, including Marriage and Family Therapy, Education, Human Development, Business and Management, Psychology, and Social Work. With a commitment to community engagement, Pacific Oaks launched one of the first Head Start training programs in the nation in 1964 and became part of The Community Solution Education System in 2010, focusing on training change agents to serve diverse communities.
