Founded in 1985, Oxbow Inc. was established in response to plans for a commercial barge shipping center that threatened the vital floodplain of the Oxbow. This ecological zone, where the Great Miami River meets the Ohio, is crucial for preserving biodiversity and preventing further loss of wetlands.
