Our Story

Since 1968, the Owensboro Humane Society has been a beacon of hope for animals in need. This 501(c)(3) charity has tirelessly worked to combat abuse, neglect, and overbreeding in the local animal population. In 1999, OHS made a pivotal decision to become a no-kill shelter, ensuring that every adoptable animal, regardless of age or special needs, has a chance at a loving home. With the support of dedicated staff and volunteers, OHS provides a safe haven for animals until they find their forever families.
